At the PGL S3 finals he would shock the world by upsetting Thresh, the dominant duel champion of the era, only to see the veteran get revenge on him from the lower bracket and deny him the title. immortal didn't have to wait long to get a trophy as he beat friend and rival Makaveli and FRAG2 champion RiX to win the Extreme Annihilation CPL in 1999. By the next PGL season he qualified but had checked out of practicing and finished merely fourth at the finals. immortal would drift out of the Quake space, playing an exhibition tournament in Sweden in early Quake 3 but otherwise turning his hand to competing in Counter-Strike. In CS he played with some of the top NA stars and he finished fourth at the Babbage's CPL in late 2000, even beating young ksharp's CK3 Blue. He would also attend the first ever WCG in 2001 in Korea but the team didn't crack the top eight. After that immortal drifted away into real life concerns and playing EverQuest. He would make a brief comeback in Quake 4 in 2006 but after that returned again to gaming for fun.
