Dancer pose is one of my favorite poses. It's both a balancing pose and a backbend, which makes it challenging but also a lot of fun. You've probably seen the traditional version of dancer which is pictured in the video thumbnail, but have you tried a kneeling version of dancer pose? Have you tried dancer pose on your belly? Have you done dancer pose balancing on your hand instead of your foot? If you thought there was only one dancer pose, get ready for an adventure on your mat today because we're exploring all of the ways to do dancer pose. Dancer pose is our pose of the month in January 2025 in my online studio MOVE with Naomi. If you want to explore dancer pose in all of her various, fun forms I'd love for you to join me in MOVE with Naomi or MOVE 15. Now, as a mom of 3 adorable and active kids, she loves sharing her yoga practice and her yoga mat with them, too! Her yoga classes are alignment-based with a creative and playful spirit. She'll probably encourage you to make animal noises that correspond with their yoga pose. And she'll probably reference Star Trek at least once (and if not Trek, definitely Buffy the Vampire Slayer or Harry Potter). Everything is yoga. Naomi is passionate about getting people on their yoga mats every single day because her daily yoga practice has been saving her sanity for over 2 decades. She's also committed to helping moms reclaim their own needs and their own time, one downward facing dog at a time.
