It simplifies application management by storing configuration in Git and using a CI/CD pipeline to automatically deploy applications. However, traditional GitOps methods have one drawback: they don't provide observability. This means it can be difficult to track application health and performance. In this presentation, we will discuss a way to achieve true GitOps using observability and Istio. We will use the Argo project, including ArgoCD and Argo Rollouts, to implement GitOps. We will use Istio to implement traffic migration without downtime. We will use SkyWalking to collect application metrics, and Istio will automatically migrate traffic based on those metrics.
