In the early 1870s, dozens of travellers started going missing along The Great Osage Trail, near Labette County, Kansas. In mid 1873, a Civil War Veteran named Colonel Alexander York went searching for his brother, Dr. William Henry York who was one of the men who went missing along this trail. Col. York would come to learn that a family of serial killers, named the Benders, were most likely responsible for the deaths of at least 11 people. Once he ready to confront them, the Benders had disappeared, and were never see again. This is the very strange mystery of the Bloody Benders.
