Enrol to our Review Center: https://www.facebook.com/share/1AC24Wsb9v/?mibextid=wwXIfr SITUATION: A 300 x 450 mm rectangular beam is reinforced at the top by 5 – 20 mm diameter bars and 4 – 28 diameter bars, enclosed by 10 mm stirrups. The beam simply supported with overhang and carries a uniform total ultimate load as shown in the figure. The longitudinal steel has a yield strength of 420 MPa, stirrups has fy = 275 MPa, and concrete f’c = 28 MPa. The concrete cover is 40 mm at top and bottom. 1. Calculate the ultimate negative bending moment capacity (kN-m) of the beam. A. 312 C. 204 B. 256 D. 195 2. Calculate the ultimate positive bending moment capacity (kN-m) of the beam. A. 204 C. 312 B. 233 D. 345 3. Calculate the ultimate uniform load (kN/m) the beam can carry. A. 141 C. 96 B. 102 D. 180 Thanks for watching!
