The beam simply supported with overhang and carries a uniform total ultimate load as shown in the figure. The longitudinal steel has a yield strength of 420 MPa, stirrups has fy = 275 MPa, and concrete f’c = 28 MPa. The concrete cover is 40 mm at top and bottom. 1.
