April 20 - An Entrepreneurs Journey: Student Entrepreneur Focus As Entrepreneurs, it's all about the journey! And this time, The University of Manitoba very own Student-Entrepreneurs have a lot to say about their journey. From writing a Business plan to confidently pitching their idea during the 2022- SCCE New Venture Championship: Graham Taylor, Tyler Phill and Maryiddah Mwaura took the leap, did the work and are now on their way to soon launch their venture! Graham Taylor is currently enrolled in the Asper MBA program with a focus on Entrepreneurship & Innovation. He was the 1st Asper student in 14 years to take home the top prize in the Stu Clark New Venture Championships when he won the graduate edition in 2022 pitching his Startup, Rogue Processing. His company aims to be the 1st dedicated cannabis co-packing facility in Manitoba, providing packaging services to small cannabis producers and helping them to bring their product to consumer markets in a sustainable manner Tyler Phill is a current student in the Asper MBA program at the University of Manitoba, which he has been enrolled in since 2017. He acquired a Honours Bachelor of Social Work through Lakehead University in 2014 and proceeded to work in the social services for several years. Tyler’s background in Social Work and the education from his MBA led him to create My Student Wellbeing in 2021. My Student Wellbeing was founded to become a centralized resource for post-secondary students to book appointments with professional mental health therapists, who accept student insurance, for online counselling. Tyler is actively working on launching My Student Wellbeing in Manitoba and he hopes to be live across Canada later this year. Mary Mwaura, is a studentpreneur in the faculty of science and majoring in microbiology. In addition to being involved in the sciences, entrepreneurship has always been a fascination of hers hence running two small businesses. She joined the 2022 Stu Clark New Venture Competition: Undergraduate edition in which she was a semi-finalist for her organic hair product line called Zuria Naturals.
