He has a 40+ year career as a technologist and intrapreneur across multiple industries, including Tech Services, Media, Insurance, Finance and Telecom. He has led and participated in numerous innovation projects, ranging from digital transformations to collaborating with Startups. He has also mentored and coached many aspiring innovators and entrepreneurs along the way. Since retiring from his professional career in 2019, Al has been actively involved in collaborating with various academic institutions, training instructors and students in design thinking and entrepreneurship. He believes that everyone has the potential to be an innovator, and that innovation is a skill that can be learned and practiced. He enjoys sharing his insights and experiences with others who are interested in developing their innovative mindset and capabilities. Al is also a co-founder of Idea Miners, a collaborative community that helps people develop and realize their ideas, whether they be for a tech startup, a social enterprise, an artistic endeavor or a community improvement project. Idea Miners provides a platform for people to connect, collaborate, and co-create with other like-minded individuals who share their vision and values.
