Meet our panelists: Jordan Hammond is a husband, father & entrepreneur who strives to live his life in alignment with his values of family, faith, freedom & abundance. He has started and purchased 5 businesses in his career, 1 resulting in personal bankruptcy when he was in his early 20s. He currently is the Visionary/CEO of Genuine Comfort which he started in 2011. Genuine Comfort has grown through organic growth and strategic acquisitions to 15M in revenue and 20 employees. Jordan is most proud of the quality time that he spends with his family while also growing a successful business that has a vision of being a 100M company by 2030. Ellery Burton, who grew up on a mixed farm in central Manitoba, initially aspired to be a farmer but chose a different path attending the Royal Military College to become a pilot and earn a degree in mechanical engineering. Following a decade in the Canadian Armed Forces, he shifted his focus to engineering management, contributing to the design of farm equipment and leading the Smart Seeder Max precision seeder project. He later transitioned to senior management at Hylife, gaining insights into efficient livestock production. Ellery's corporate journey continued with a role as the Director of Operations for a farm supply business. Currently, as the Principal Managing Partner at Alterra Innovation, he spearheads the development and commercialization of cutting-edge technologies for agriculture and clean energy. Notable inventions include the CleanTrace livestock traceability system, Javelin electric car firefighting device, and GrainTracker platform. Ellery is also pursuing a Ph.D. in Biosystems Engineering, focusing on applied artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision, and optimization algorithms to enhance controlled environmental agriculture and precision agriculture benefits.
