THE BUILD KEEPS MOVING… EVEN WHEN NOTHING GOES TO PLAN In this episode, we’re deep into a full-on week of progress on the 8x8 overland truck — and it’s one of those episodes where everything seems to happen at once. We start by attempting to fit the driving cab windows… but quickly run into an unexpected issue that slows things down and forces us to rethink the approach. From there, we shift focus and get the front bumper finally fitted — another big visual milestone for the truck and a real step forward in the build. We also get the fabrication work back from Hulk Fabrications, meaning we can start installing key components, including mounting the hydraulic tank and integrating some of the critical systems that will support the truck going forward. Midweek, Trilogy Designs join us on site for two days and absolutely power through a series of intricate joinery and interior-focused jobs. Their help pushes forward some of the more detailed finishing elements that we wouldn’t have been able to complete as quickly on our own. Along the way, we step back and properly map out the main remaining phases of the build — breaking down exactly what needs to happen next and in what order to get this truck finished and ready for its journey. As always, there are plenty of smaller jobs happening in the background that all add up to real progress. This is the reality of a full custom overland build — plans change, problems appear, but the momentum keeps going.
