Putin’s inner circle is not one united team. It is a system of competing power centers, each performing a function the regime cannot survive without. In this video, I break down the men around Putin who really matter, from security chiefs like Patrushev, Bortnikov, Zolotov, and Naryshkin, to war managers like Shoigu, Belousov, Gerasimov, and Chemezov, to technocrats, political operators, and regional loyalists like Kadyrov. The key point is that these figures matter less because of their titles and more because of the roles they play: repression, war production, economic survival, political control, elite discipline, and regional coercion. Putin stays powerful by keeping these factions useful, divided, and dependent on him, but as the war puts more pressure on Russia, that balancing act becomes harder to sustain. 🧠Join my Patreon and get weekly reports on what's going on in the world! https://patreon.com/CalebMcMurtrey ☕️ Interested in supporting the channel?
