He belonged to the earliest, most vibrant days of the Erdtree, back when Godfrey was still Elden Lord and the Age of Plenty was in full swing. The DLC essentially confirms this backbone with the Crimson Amber Medallion +3, revealing that these heavy jewels of overflowing divine dew were gifted directly to the elite high-ranking knights of Godwin's personal inner circle. He was the gold standard that every subsequent demigod measured themselves against. But that noble image is exactly what makes his current state so uniquely tragic and stomach-churning. When we look at what became of him—that warped, fish-like monstrous growth spreading like a cancer through the roots of the world—it curls into a feeling of visceral revulsion. And let's be blunt: Godwin didn't just catch death; he became death root itself. His corruption is a full-scale biological takeover, reproducing his DNA until his cold, unblinking eyes peer out from the bark of trees and the shells of giant crabs across the globe.
