Megan Moynahan is the Executive Director of the Institute for Functional Restoration, a non-profit organization based at Case Western Reserve that brings technologies out of research and into real use for people with paralysis. Megan works with world-renowned researchers who are developing an "artificial nervous system," giving people with paralysis the ability to do what would otherwise be impossible. Megan enjoyed a 17-year career at the US Food and Drug Administration's Center for Devices and Radiological Health, most recently serving as Associate Director for Technology and Innovation. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
