The arrival of June means that (depending on the weather) summer is definitely here and for me this month is all about keeping the garden looking its best. It's a time for getting the secateurs out and deadheading flowers that have gone over. I also like to have the hoe to hand while I'm in the borders for dead heading any annual weeds I find. It's also a time to keep an eye on taller perennials as they can start to flop at this time of year. Pick up some supports from your local garden centre and apply them over the plant before it starts to go. Watering and feeding should also be part of your routine this month but be careful with both. This video will give you lots of tips on that. I like to plant up hanging baskets this time of year. The flowers are in bloom, you can always find space for them and they always bring a smile to my face!
