Curated by: I Could Murder A Podcast (307 videos)
On the night of June 6, 1996, a 911 call was made from a suburban Texas home. Darlie Routier, a young mother, claimed an intruder had broken in and brutally attacked her and her two sons while they slept downstairs. When police arrived, her sons, Damon and Devon, were found with fatal stab wounds. Darlie had injuries of her own, including a cut to her throat. What followed was one of the most polarising murder investigations in Texas history. Prosecutors argued that Darlie's wounds were self-inflicted and that she staged the scene. The defence insisted she was a grieving mother, wrongly accused in the midst of trauma. Despite the lack of a clear motive and several unanswered questions, Darlie was convicted and sentenced to death. To this day, many argue she is innocent and that critical mistakes were made during the investigation. Others believe the evidence is overwhelming. Darlie Routier remains on death row, and her case continues to divide true crime communities across the world. #TrueCrime #DarlieRoutier #DeathRow #WrongfulConviction #ICouldMurderAPodcast #TexasJustice #CrimePodcast #MotherOnTrial #RealCrimeStories #TrueCrimeDebate For extra content, bonus episodes and discount codes for merch: www.icmap.co.uk Follow our socials: @couldmurderapod Written & presented by Tom Norris & Ben Carter | @nozzer89 @thisiscarts Produced by Dan Lambert | @dvnjmix Edited by Ben Bonsey #truecrime
