Welcome to my channel Fade To Black! What really happened to Roy Scheider? He was the face of Jaws, but Chief Brody was only one part of the story. From The French Connection and Marathon Man to Sorcerer and All That Jazz, Scheider brought intelligence, intensity and a believable toughness to some of cinema’s most memorable films. So why didn’t that extraordinary run turn him into an enduring Hollywood leading man? In this Fade to Black retrospective, we explore his theatre beginnings, his breakthrough roles, the changing opportunities of the 1980s and his move into seaQuest DSV. We also look at his life away from the camera, his final years and the legacy of an actor whose greatest strength was making extraordinary situations feel real. Which Roy Scheider performance is your favourite? Let us know in the comments, Faders. ☕ SUPPORT FADE TO BLACK Buy Me a Coffee: https://buymeacoffee.com/fadetoblack 🎬 BECOME A CHANNEL MEMBER https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCSOrFD-lUIo1PGA9_e3mRlg/join Like, subscribe and explore more of our “What Really Happened To” actor retrospectives. ⏱️ TIMESTAMPS 00:00 Introduction 00:42 Jaws (1975) 02:03 The French Connection (1971) 02:12 Marathon Man (1976) 02:48 Roots in Theatre 03:55 The Curse of the Living Corpse (1964) 04:06 Klute (1971) 04:21 The Seven-Ups (1973) 04:31 Sorcerer (1977) 06:03 Jaws 2 (1978) 06:15 All That Jazz (1979) 07:56 Blue Thunder (1983) 08:15 2010: The Year We Make Contact (1984) 08:17 52 Pick-Up (1986) 08:28 Naked Lunch (1991) 08:37 seaQuest DSV (1993–1996) 09:20 Away from the Camera 09:30 The Diagnosis 09:46 Iron Cross (2009) 10:02 In Conclusion #RoyScheider #Jaws #Sorcerer #AllThatJazz #TheFrenchConnection #WhatReallyHappenedTo #FadeToBlack #FilmHistory #ActorRetrospective ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Subscribe Now: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCSOrFD-lUIo1PGA9_e3mRlg?sub_confirmation=1 ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ▶ SUBSCRIBE if you are New and Turn the Bell ON 👍 Like the video 💬 Comment if you made it till the end! 🔗 Share the video with anyone you think it might help :) Thank you ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Fade To Black: 💼 Welcome to Fade To Black, your ultimate destination for all things cinematic!
