What is the Proof of Time Dilation? This video explains the famous muon experiment that proves time dilation as predicted by Einstein’s special relativity. In 1960 David Frisch and James Smith performed a calculation of muons at an altitude of 1900m and compared that to Sea level. They found that more than 70% of muons at the altitude survived till sea level, even though classically it should be 5% as moun average lifespan is 2.2us. This is direct evidence of Time Dilation, as moving muons survive longer, as observed from Earth frame of reference
