Super Mario 64 has a ton of iconic courses like Bob-omb Battlefield, Whomps Fortress, Tick Tock Clock, etc. A lot of the time, it can be difficult to keep track of all of the courses in the middle, the ones that are pretty fun but not quite as iconic. I’d argue that one of those stages is Lethal Lava Land. This is the very first 3D Lava course, though I don’t think it’s as fondly remembered as some of the other courses in Mario 64. So in today’s episode of Level By Level I want to analyze Lethal Lava Land’s aesthetic, layout, and stars to determine where it belongs on my mario 64 tier list!
