Compounding is often described as this incredible force that makes money grow faster and faster over time. But when you're in the early stages of investing, the reality can feel very different. In this video I share what compounding actually looks like right now in my own portfolio. After starting to take investing seriously in January 2025, I've invested roughly £18,000, and I wanted to show the real numbers behind how the portfolio has grown so far. No projections, no hypothetical examples, and definitely no “get rich quick” claims — just the genuine early stage of building an investment portfolio. One thing that becomes very clear at this stage is that most of the growth isn’t coming from compounding yet - it’s coming from the money you add yourself. That’s why in the early years of investing the most important things are often: building the habit of investing regularly maintaining a strong savings rate and being patient enough to let compounding work over the long term On this channel I’m documenting my attempt to slowly build financial options through investing, sensible financial decisions, and long-term thinking.
