In this video, I test the upgraded Astrid and Lucas at Ascension Level 2, break down their new mechanics, explore their synergy with Adam, and find out whether this forgotten hero finally deserves a place in competitive Hero Wars: Dominion Era teams. 🔥 WHAT THIS VIDEO IS ABOUT The new Astrid and Lucas Ascension Skills change how quickly this hero becomes effective in battle. While Rampant Nature is active, Astrid receives 30% less damage, giving her significantly better survivability. But the bigger change comes from The Thrill of the Hunt. At Ascension Level 2, Astrid starts battle with 300 Rage. At maximum development, that increases to 500 Rage. That extra starting Rage allows Lucas to enter Rage form much earlier. And that matters for the entire team. When Lucas transforms, Astrid and Lucas activate Princess's Musket, granting the whole team 50,000 Armor for 9 seconds, while also activating their attack-speed boost. ⚔️ ASTRID + ADAM SYNERGY This is where my testing became really interesting. Astrid and Lucas work surprisingly well with Adam because both heroes interact with Hunter's Mark. Adam generally applies his mark toward enemy backline heroes, while Astrid tends to mark frontline targets. Lucas can then stun marked enemies he attacks. That creates pressure across multiple parts of the enemy formation instead of focusing everything on one target. Against Electra teams, the combination showed real potential. One lineup I tested extensively was: Julius – Adam – Astrid & Lucas – Jorgen – Dorian Jorgen helps delay Electra's ultimate while Astrid, Lucas, and Adam apply heavy pressure. During Lucas's Rage form, their combined damage can bring Electra down surprisingly quickly. I also tested replacing Dorian with Somna for additional control. That version performed well too, although Dorian provides valuable sustain for the damage dealers. 💡 KEY TAKEAWAYS • Astrid takes 30% less damage during Rampant Nature. • Level 2 Ascension gives Astrid 300 starting Rage. • Maximum development increases that to 500 Rage. • Earlier Rage means earlier team Armor and attack-speed benefits. • Lucas can stun targets affected by Hunter's Mark. • Adam + Astrid & Lucas creates interesting Hunter synergy. • The combination performs particularly well against Electra setups. • Ascension Level 3 appears noticeably stronger than Level 2 in testing. • Astrid and Lucas are improved, but I would NOT call them meta-defining yet. 🚩 WHAT COULD CHANGE EVERYTHING? The upcoming War Flag of False Immortality could become extremely interesting for this type of aggressive team because of its team-wide Vampirism. And then there's Eva. If Eva arrives in Hero Wars: Dominion Era with mechanics that complement Adam and Astrid & Lucas, we could potentially see the foundation of a much stronger Hunter composition. For now, that's still speculation. We need Eva in the game before making that call. 🎯 WHY THIS MATTERS Before these Ascension Skills, Astrid and Lucas struggled to justify a serious investment. That has changed. They're not suddenly a mandatory meta hero, but they're now a genuinely functional option with interesting synergy, improved survivability, faster activation, and real potential alongside Adam.
