Savage beastfly! also maybe a cursed ending attempt?? Q: What is that input circle thing? A: It's a custom overlay showing my controller analog stick input statistics! I was curious to see how rotated/offset it was when using the PS4 controller (which I'm not used to). It's also showing the boundaries where silksong considers you to be pressing the left/right/up/down buttons Q: Are you using any mods? A: Yes, my own! I was using it to experiment a little with the game mechanics. It makes parries freezeless, as well as makes cloak reactivation input buffered, bc it's annoying when you fall even while holding it c: -- I'll be trying to figure out what made Silksong so frustrating during my first playthrough from a game design perspective, and how it became one of my favorite games of all time I'm trying to gather my thoughts on it all, so I'm playing it again! I will have a lot opinions, but I of course don't speak for all game developers! This will just be my perspective on what I think went right or wrong with the game My current theory is that Silksong's difficulty is fine, but it has minor things that cause significant frustration, making the difficulty feel a lot worse than it could be. But maybe I'm wrong! I'm doing a second playthrough ahead of potentially making a review/critique/feedback video of Silksong, if I end up having interesting things to say! Also my first (blind!) playthrough was the mist route so I'm trying the last judge route this time! My first playthrough was off-stream and took about 90 hours for 100% true ending. Prior to that I played Hollow Knight for the first time, at about 60 hours playtime, and got *to* radiance, but didn't beat it. Before that I played and got true ending in Nine Sols, which was absolutely wonderful! Otherwise I don't have any other metroidvania experience Superchat if you really want me to read/answer your message/question!
