This video shows how a spherial curve can be generated in a 450mm telescope blank using a standard milling machine and a diamond tool. The mirror is placed in a rotating bowl of water and the diamond tool is placed under a small angle. I would not advice this method for mirrors this large. In order to generate a F4 curve you need to remove quit a log of glass (2kgs), which is kind of hard to achieve with this setup.
