Introduction to Expert State Machine Diagrams in Enterprise Architect introducing pseudostates and triggers, guards and effects and simple simulations. Stephen and Scott introduce a number of pseudo states to the diagram including a Fork Choice and Histroy. A transition is embellished with a trigger and a related guard and an effect which is defined by the owing classifier’s behavior in the form of an operation. The trigger is of type signal and is related to a signal element defined in the model. Stephen gives a brief demonstration of manual simulations and mentions more complex simulations such as executable state machine.
