Excel Esports is a competition where participants solve unusual game tasks in Microsoft Excel and score points for the correct answers. Use IFS, XLOOKUP, SUM, VBA, Power Query, Lambdas: anything is allowed, and the strategy is up to you. There are 10 online Excel Esports Battles taking place throughout the year. Everyone is welcome to participate in all the battles. After these 10 battles, in October there’s a Microsoft Excel World Championship qualification round where once again anyone can participate. 128 players qualify further and start the playoff rounds. The Top players of Excel Esports battles and the playoff winners are invited for in-person finals in Las Vegas!

Welcome to the Excel Esports European Open 2026 Day 2, live from Amsterdam — where the world’s top Excel athletes compete for glory, the championship title, and cash prizes. We’re introducing brand-new game formats to make the action even bigger, faster, and more exciting to watch. What You’ll See Today Main Event Semi Finals 1 & 2 Standard Excel Esports games in an all-vs-all format. Each game will feature 20 semi-finalists, and the top 5 from each game will qualify for the Main Event Finals later in the day. Team Relays The top 10 teams from Day 1 will compete in a Team Relay game, where each player gets 10 minutes to work on the case. After the signal, they switch, giving the next player a seat to continue solving the case. After the timer runs out, the top team will be crowned champions. 1. JET PACK – Eric Ashton, Jack Franken, Tanguy Prodault Microsoft Excel Collegiate Challenge (MECC) – Student Finals The top 9 student players from Day 1, along with the only pre-qualified player — Luke Peyton, who earned his spot by winning the Online Regional Winners' Battle — will face off in an elimination-style game. Every 5 minutes, the lowest-scoring player will be eliminated until only 5 players remain to battle for the top spot, the Student Champion title, and the cash prize. Main Event Finals 10 players will compete in a standard Excel Esports all-vs-all format for prize money, 5 spots in the Microsoft Excel World Championship Quarterfinals, and 1 spot in the Semifinals in Las Vegas, as well as the championship title.
