Excel Esports is a competition where participants solve unusual game tasks in Microsoft Excel and score points for the correct answers. Use IFS, XLOOKUP, SUM, VBA, Power Query, Lambdas: anything is allowed, and the strategy is up to you. There are 10 online Excel Esports Battles taking place throughout the year. Everyone is welcome to participate in all the battles. After these 10 battles, in October there’s a Microsoft Excel World Championship qualification round where once again anyone can participate. 128 players qualify further and start the playoff rounds. The Top players of Excel Esports battles and the playoff winners are invited for in-person finals in Las Vegas!

Welcome to the Excel Esports European Open 2026 Day 1, live from Amsterdam - where the world’s top Excel athletes compete for glory, the championship title, and cash prizes. We’re introducing brand-new game formats to make the action even bigger, faster, and more exciting to watch. What You’ll See Today Mega Elimination 60 minutes of gameplay. Once eliminations begin, players will be knocked out one by one until only one player remains standing. The last player takes home the cash prize. Teams Teams of 3 players work together on the same case, where strategy and coordination are everything. The top 10 teams will qualify for the Team Relay on Day 2 — the ultimate team showdown to crown the best squad in Excel Esports. Mixed Doubles Pairs compete side by side to solve the same case together. How they divide the work is up to them, but achieving the highest score will earn them the cash prize. Microsoft Excel Collegiate Challenge (MECC) – Student Qualifier Open to students from around the world, this event gives rising talent a chance to showcase their skills. The top 9 players will advance to the Day 2 Student Finals, where they will join the only pre-qualified player — Luke Peyton, who earned his spot by winning the Online Regional Winners' Battle. Main Event Qualification Round Players will battle in an all-vs-all standard Excel Esports competition for a spot in the Day 2 Semifinals, where the top 40 players will advance.
