Excel Esports is a competition where participants solve unusual game tasks in Microsoft Excel and score points for the correct answers. Use IFS, XLOOKUP, SUM, VBA, Power Query, Lambdas: anything is allowed, and the strategy is up to you. There are 10 online Excel Esports Battles taking place throughout the year. Everyone is welcome to participate in all the battles. After these 10 battles, in October there’s a Microsoft Excel World Championship qualification round where once again anyone can participate. 128 players qualify further and start the playoff rounds. The Top players of Excel Esports battles and the playoff winners are invited for in-person finals in Las Vegas!

Here’s how the season breaks down: 1️⃣ Road to Las Vegas (Jan 23 - Sep 18, 2025): 9 monthly Excel Esports Road to Las Vegas Battles where 90 players earn spots in the Online Rounds. 2️⃣ MEWC Online Qualification & Playoff Rounds (Sep 27 - Oct 18, 2025): A Qualification Round determines 150 players for the Playoffs. The Playoffs start with 256 participants, including: -90 Road to Las Vegas winners -16 Financial Modeling World Cup leaders -150 Qualification Round winners The top 8 players from the Last 16 advance directly to Day 3 Finals in Las Vegas. 3️⃣ Las Vegas Finals (Dec 1-3, 2025): Day 1: Last Chance Qualification Round (LCQR), where 15 players and 1 wildcard earn spots in Day 2 competition. Day 2: 64 players compete, including: -24 players from the Online Rounds (Last 32) -16 high-scoring players from Last 64 Online Round -15 LCQR winners -8 Local Chapter champions -1 wildcard The top 16 players advance to Day 3.
