The LoveYou trojan displays a rapidly flashing screen that fakes a formatting of the hard drive and a deletion of the BIOS. It also displays rather rude messages. After this is finished it overwrites the WIN.COM file with a program that reboots the computer, and copies the original WIN.COM to WIR.COM. This can only be changed in pure DOS.
