Episode 4: Day 18 Veg, Pre-Flower Prep & Canopy Management The side-by-side grow is on Day 18 of veg, and all three tents are looking great as we get closer to flipping to flower. I start with an update on the Blueberry Muffins and compare how the BluMat and AutoPot Tray2Grow setups are progressing. I check moisture levels, reservoir water use, and overall plant health while looking at some of the early differences between the three setups. I also explain why I decided to turn off the Tarantula Volcano under-canopy lights during veg. Instead of adding another variable this early, I want to wait until the flower stretch is finished before turning them back on and gradually dialing in the PPFD. That’s when the under-canopy portion of this side-by-side will really begin. From there, it’s all about getting the plants ready for flower. I chop and drop the cover crop, clean up lower branches and leaves, do some light defoliation, and install the trellis net to start managing the canopy before the flip. The plants are healthy, the irrigation systems are running smoothly, and we’re almost ready to move into flower and see where the real differences between these setups start to show.
