The mighty Wookiee Chewbacca and Han Solo must work together to fix their ship, the Millennium Falcon, and flee from danger! Chewbacca, or "Chewie" as he's known to his friends, is a legendary rebel and friend of Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, C-3PO, R2-D2, and Lando Calrissian, fighting against the evil forces of the Empire and Darth Vader. Who is Chewbacca? Chewbacca, over 200 years old, comes from the Wookiee planet Kashyyyk, a beautiful world of trees and nature. During the Clone Wars, Chewbacca met the Padawan Ahsoka Tano, and encountered Yoda while battling the Separatists on Kashyyyk. However, the mighty Wookiee eventually became an Imperial prisoner on Mimban. There, the Empire kept Chewbacca in a mud pit, disheveled and hungry, referring to Chewie as "The Beast." Soon, though, Imperial soldiers placed Han Solo in Chewbacca's cell. While the two initially fought, they soon decided to join forces. Together, Han and Chewie escaped Mimban and later encountered Lando Calrissian. Lando, owner of the Millennium Falcon, a very fast and beautiful ship, joined Han and Chewie on a job to steal coaxium from the spice mines of Kessel. Following a daring heist, Han and Chewbacca flew the Millennium Falcon through a deadly maelstrom, completing what is known as the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs; though the Falcon suffered some damage, it remained the fastest ship in the galaxy. Han and Chewbacca became lifelong friends, ready for the next adventure. Some time later, Chewbacca and Han met Obi-Wan Kenobi and Luke Skywalker; the Jedi Master and his pupil were looking for passage to the Alderaan system. Han and Chewie agreed to take them to Alderaan aboard the Millennium Falcon, but upon arrival became ensnared by the Empire's battle station, the Death Star. Aboard the Death Star, Luke, Han, and Chewbacca rescued Princess Leia, and returned to the Rebel Alliance. While Han and Chewie first chose to leave the Rebellion, they quickly returned and helped Luke to destroy the Death Star. Following these events, Chewbacca and Han remained with the Rebellion, eventually setting up a base on the remote ice planet called Hoth. However, a probe droid detected the rebels' presence and alerted the Empire. While Han and Chewie struggled to get the Millennium Falcon in working order and Han was desperate to pay his debt to the Jabba the Hutt, the Empire soon arrived, making their situation more dire. Han and Chewie escaped with Princess Leia and C-3PO, with the Empire in pursuit. Chewbacca and his friends navigated an asteroid field and eventually traveled to Cloud City, where they connected with Lando Calrissian. But all was not as it seemed; the bounty hunter Boba Fett had tracked Chewie and his friends, bringing the Empire and Darth Vader to capture the rebels. Han Solo was frozen in carbonite and delivered to Jabba the Hutt, and Chewbacca, Leia, Lando, Luke, C-3PO, and R2-D2 barely got away. Later, the rebels launched a plan to rescue Han Solo from Jabba. Leia, disguised as a bounty hunter, brought Chewbacca to Jabba as a prisoner. Luke soon arrived, and everyone worked together to free Han and destroy Jabba. After a return to the rebel fleet, Chewbacca joined Han and his friends on a mission to destroy the new Death Star's shield generator on the forest moon of Endor. There, Chewbacca's curiosity got him into a little bit of trouble that proved fortuitous: Chewie grabbed at what appeared to be an animal carcass, but he instead had sprung an Ewok trap! "Great, Chewie," Han said. "Always thinkin' with your stomach." The Ewoks took Chewbacca and his friends prisoner, but soon released them and became allies. The Ewoks helped the rebels battle the Empire; two of the furry aliens even commandeered an AT-ST with Chewbacca! Thanks to Chewbacca and his companions, the shield generator was destroyed, as was the Death Star. Years after the Battle of Endor, Chewbacca remained Han Solo's friend and co-pilot. With Han, Chewbacca met Rey and Finn, and joined the Resistance in the struggle against the evil First Order. Chewbacca is one of Star Wars' greatest heroes.
