The "nightly visitor" is essentially the "Brutus" of Animal Crossing: Wild World. A figure rumored to hide in the shadows, taking the form of animals in your town. It is said to visit your town from around 11pm - 4am, roaming near the graveyard. On rare occasions, the nightly visitor may enter your house and rearrange the furniture in your living room. If the nightly visitor catches you, you will receive the highly elusive "game over" screen, but also lose all of your progress. No dialogue in the game has ever been found to even acknowledge its existence, let alone the graveyard it resides in. Despite the rumors, the nightly visitor doesn't "kill you in real life". This is an urban legend perpetrated by others who are obviously still alive to post about it.
