So basically my idea behind this one is that crossroads hole is really good. it mines like 5 or something less blackstone so you just get a lot more overlap time. Secondly, Chloe was telling me earlier about how throwing gold after the first block isnt as good as people think. The pigs finish trading as soon as you get down so you would have to throw them an extra 16 gold for every pig for it to be worth it. Or else they would just not be doing anything for the 4 seconds you mine out the hole. If you throw gold after you mine all backups, then by the time you finish the hole, theyll be almost done with their first cycle. So accounting for time it takes to craft gold one extra time, they are ABOUT EVEN. not exactly, I think that If you do early gold throw + another 16 gold when you drop down, then you are about 1 trade cycle ahead. HOWEVER, this brings up the problem that early gold throw towards the bottom is not only more dangerous, but also about 2-3 pigs get stuck every time for an extra 5 seconds. ANNOYING!!!! If you do a top gold throw then your trades are scattered everywhere which can lead to a 2-3 second time loss which makes it baddddd... (though its only overlap timeloss you get?) My point is, its all confusing and all kind of preference. But you know whats not preference. CROSSROADS HOLE BEING LESS BLACKSTONE MINED. So why not just do crossroads hole with early gold throw and classic OG top down? Its because as soon as you go down, the pigs finish trading, and they will have a period of time where they will move and they can carry momentum to block you from placing a block above you. So to fix this, you just throw the gold late and they will always stay in position!!! Throwing gold behind you also makes it muchhhhhh less likely for important trades to be scattered about above. You can also just place a few blocks to push the trades to you instead of going up. Why the quicksand route part? Well, if youre not going to be trading gold early anyway, might as well save a blackstone break. Plus it allows for easy pathfinding to maximize pig count. Also, Chloe showed me erarlier about standing back when mining the first gold block, This way you can aggro more outer housing piglins and they can walk up the stairs as long as you are standing at the backup blocks section. So that is an extra few pigs a couple of the times. Techincally, enabling hard mode would get even more extra pigs, but on housing i dont think that matters very much and a lot of the times you lose them anyway because you go too fast lol. SO. ALL IN ALL, is this actually faster? i dunno. Do what you wanna do, I might do this, I might not! It's just a cool route combining a buncch of micro gathered by a bunch of different people: Quicksand Route Chloe's Micro Crossroads Hole Shout out to the people at ABS because they are very smart.
