I was named after Dirk and Lerxst. \m/ The idea for this ultimately was an influence of an episode of 80's Slasher meets Punk'd. The idea behind him melting initially was going to be just a puddle of water, but I thought the flames and molten lava effect would look better visually. Les Claypool's Model was actually based on a model of Patrick Bateman from American Psycho.. with much enhanced models and effects.
