Currently Playing: $200,000 For This RARE Poker Move!!!

Antonio Esfandiari is one of the old school high stakes poker legends that poker fans love to watch. In this hand, he’s back under the lights on PokerGO’s No Gamble, No Future, battling it out in a high stakes cash game. Esfandiari finds himself with a full house on the turn against Brandon Steven and has to dig deep into his bag of tricks to extract maximum value from the businessman. Will Esfandiari be able to win $200,000 for this rare poker move? When an opponent takes several passive actions in a hand, such as checking twice, and then suddenly shifts to aggression by raising, it is often a sign of strength. This kind of line usually indicates a hand that is already very strong, possibly even the nuts, and unlikely to be outdrawn. The opponent may have been checking to induce action or to give weaker hands a chance to catch up before deciding to build the pot. Additionally, if a player raises to a small sizing that gives you excellent odds to call with your draw, such as a flush or straight draw, this can also be a big warning sign. Good winning poker players generally understand that when they raise, they should give bad odds to drawing hands. So if you see a competent poker player making a small raise in this spot, proceed with extreme caution. It may be a trap designed to keep you in the hand with worse! Antonio Esfandiari is a professional poker player from the United States who was originally born in Iran. Esfandiari has over $27,800,000 in live tournament earnings, putting him in the top 50 on the all time money list. Esfandiari has 3 World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelets. His 1st was at the 2004 WSOP, where he won a $2,000 Pot Limit Hold’em (PLHE) event for over $184,860. The 2nd was in 2012 when he secured his biggest career cash of $18,346,673 by winning the $1,000,000 buy-in, Big One for One Drop. That same year, Esfandiari won his most recent bracelet in a €1,100 buy-in No Limit Hold’em (NLHE) event at the World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) for €126,207. Brandon Steven is an amateur poker player and successful businessman, primarily known for his ventures in the car dealership industry. He owns multiple car dealerships across the U.S., focusing on high-end luxury vehicles. Steven has over $6,800,000 in live tournament earnings, putting him in the top 300 on the all-time money list. 🔍 Preflop: With the $800 double straddle on, Andrew Sasson raises the button to $2,000 with K2o. Antonio Esfandiari calls out of the small blind holding 86 of spades before Brandon Steven defends his big blind with J4 of clubs. Jennifer Tilly calls from the under the gun straddle with T9o and they head to the flop four ways. 💸 Flop - Ac 8d 6h: Esfandiari checks first from the small blind, having flopped bottom two pair, eights and sixes, with his suited one gapper. Steven checks his backdoor flush draw and backdoor straight draw, and Tilly checks her gutshot straight draw. Sasson has the option to check or bet, but decides on neither as he just folds what is currently the second best hand with king high. 💣 Turn - 8c: The board pairing 8 of clubs turn improves Esfandiari to a full house, eights full of sixes and guarantees he will win the pot unless he folds. Esfandiari sets the trap and checks again before Steven fires out a bet of $4,000, having picked up a backdoor flush draw. Tilly folds, now that she is no longer drawing to the nuts, but Esfandiari decides he needs to build the pot as he chooses to check raise to $13,000. Steven calls, not knowing that he is drawing dead! 🌊 River - 3c: The flush completing 3 of clubs river is one of the worst cards for Steven, as it improves him to a flush. Esfandiari probably thinks this card is better for Steven’s calling range on the turn as he checks his boat. Steven presumably thinks he is making a value bet when he fires out $27,000 across the betting line, when actually he is lighting the money on fire. Esfandiari now makes the rare double check raise to $79,000, sending Steven into the tank. Will Steven fall for The Magician’s trick, or will he see through it and make a disciplined laydown?
