After the birth and breastfeeding trauma I experienced after the birth of our son, I knew I needed to choose a different model of care than the public hospital system and I’m grateful that not only did we have the means to achieve this, but that I also have a husband who completely supported my decision. As I mention at the beginning of this video, this was not a free birth. I had two incredible midwives present and went through all my birth options with Janine leading up to the birth. I’m sharing my story in this way because my husband and I truly believe that more people need to know about this option and to not be so afraid of what the female body is made to do. Since my homebirth I can unequivocally say that a woman is superhuman no matter how she chooses to birth.
