In this video, I’m sharing the birth story of our fifth baby. This was a planned home birth, with an unplanned unassisted aspect (the midwife didn't get here in time!), but we had a knowledgeable friend serving us as a doula to provide my husband and I with extra support, and everything went smoothly, praise the Lord! I'm sharing about how labour started, what surprised us about it (even after doing this four other times!), how I utilized Spinning Babies techniques to encourage labor along and the Bradley Method techniques to manage labour, and how I ultimately ended up in the tub for birthing the baby. If you’re curious about natural birth, home birth, or simply love hearing honest, reflective birth stories, I hope this encourages you. This video isn’t meant to persuade or pressure anyone into a certain kind of birth. My goal is simply to document this experience, reflect on what I learned, and share a positive, realistic look at what an unassisted water birth can look like in a calm, supported home environment.
