Heartbreak, courage, and hope as Dr Scott returns to the front lines, joining the welfare warriors fighting to protect Ukraine's animals. On this trip, Russian drone attacks make it far more dangerous than expected... ---------------------------------- This week on Rescue Vet, we're back in Ukraine for a new 4-part War Vet series. Last year, Dr Scott returned to Ukraine and traveled north of Kyiv to a zoo that Russian forces occupied in 2022. Tanks drove onto the lawns, occupying the zoo, making it a target for bombardment. Power, gas, and food deliveries were cut off, leaving more than 200 animals suffering in the middle of the fighting. Their only hope: just seven brave staff members who stayed behind to care for them. We'll meet Archie, the only rhino in Ukraine. Learn the heartbreaking story of monkeys kept in transport boxes just to survive the cold. And how two orangutans were smuggled out past a Russian checkpoint, barely surviving their escape. 💬 COMMENT: What did you think of the zoo team’s courage?
