FromSoftware deserves a lot of credit for trying to evolve the Soulsborne format. Offering either stealth or swordplay, it pulls back from the overwhelming choice you get from Dark Souls and Bloodborne’s numbers-heavy character progression, in favour of a smaller array of choices. This demands that the player engage with all of it and get better. The agility which wolf has is a wonder to behold, the world is gorgeous, and vibrant, colourful, despite the rot undercutting its tale. But how does it stack up compared to Dark Souls and Bloodborne when a new player goes head-to-head with it?
