Currently Playing: Rex Hunt on radio - "It was a Wilbur Post!" (AFL Live, 2012)

I had the pleasure of working with Rex Hunt for 5 years as a panel operator for 'AFL Live', Crocmedia's syndicated radio broadcast across regional Australia. One of the great thrills of the job was playing the sound effects. And one of his recurring gags whenever a player kicked the ball into a goal post was to say "It was a Wilbur Post", which was my cue to play a grab from the 1960s TV series 'Mr Ed' - a sitcom about a man named Wilbur Post and his talking horse, the titular Mr Ed. The grab itself was Mr Ed saying "Hello. I'm Mr Ed." taken from the beginning of the show's opening titles. These are some of the better ones from throughout the 2012 season. I think from memory the record for the most Wilbur Posts in one game was 9. Also featuring the voices of Sandy Roberts, Cameron Mooney, Peter Donegan, Tristan Foenander & Jack Heverin. 'AFL Live' later became 'AFL Nation' and Crocmedia is now Sports Entertainment Network.
