Hello everybody and welcome back to another fun achievement hunting Hearts of Iron 4. Now I'm hoping today's one will actually be relatively easy. I say that and I hope it doesn't come back to bite me. I think it's also like our fifth Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood reference for these latest DLCs. I think we've already mentioned this before, but bro did you just watch it? Okay, very cool though. As democratic Japan, complete the focus foreign exchange allocation policy and capitulate Germany. Obvious caveat is that Germany needs to be on their historical path, so that we can't hit the historical AI focuses button. Oh, what a shame everybody. We're going to have to do this the old-fashioned way. This 100-year-old HOI4 YouTuber still gets achievements the old-fashioned way. Brain damage. Now we have done a democratic run as Japan already, so I feel like I've already learned quite a bit from my mistakes in that video. And also you guys left me some pretty damn handy comments that actually said, "Don't wait around actually flipping the provinces with the decisions. Just rush on down as quickly as you can. Apparently it's easier." So rush on down I will do today. Just like if everybody rushed on down to the subscribe button down below. That's right, we're trying to hit like 900,000 subscribers. We're going to do something real special if that gets hit. As it turns out only X amount of you are currently subscribed. So just to triple-check the triggers for this achievement, literally democratic capitulate the Germans. Sounds easy, right? We also need to get foreign exchange allocation policy and I have no idea where the hell that is, but thankfully we can just search and there it is. Oh god. Okay, yeah, that is pretty far down there though. We will have to probably rush as quickly as we can to get down there because as we know in the latest patches, Germany does this thing where I like to capitulate pretty damn quick. But obviously being democratic means we could get in on the allies, I assume. And if we're in on the allies, I think this is going to be a pretty easy game, I won't lie. So I think we can skip a whole bunch of stuff. Excellent, the military has been purged. Unfortunately, they're now going to go ahead and purge us. But we've got back up, it's the Yakuza. The reason you want to go ahead and rush actually getting this civil war as quickly as possible is because obviously the other side is doing focuses at the same time, which makes them more powerful. So after we've done the Yakuza one, I'm just going to rush down and then trigger it. And we are good to go. Let's hope we are actually good to go and rushing down here um hasn't absolutely screwed us cuz we are missing out on quite a few things that would make us more powerful. Like this one up here would make us pretty damn good. We get even more divisions. But I'm just going to take your word for it, little dab Timmy in the chat. I mean we don't look too bad right now. How many units do they currently have? Um it is a mystery. It definitely definitely no different than when we did it last time, I'm going to be real. I'm just going to refit the army instead and kind of still build up while we're in the civil war and just write this off completely. It's just one of those fun things with Japan. Every single path requires pay. But since what we're doing today, we're not really that worried about, you know, being on time with stuff, I reckon we'll still be able to get Germany pretty easy if I just make sure I'm researching and doing the right things. Um I'm I'm fine just waiting here. I'll wait, you know, you take your time over that. I'm assuming do they have a focus tree? Do they do? So at least they can go down this focus tree here and give you some factory. Do wonder like who play tested this and was like, you know what? I think the player should have to sacrifice up to a year of their life >> [laughter] >> before they can do anything. And there we go. Took a little bit of build up, which means I think we lost like a good six months, maybe even a whole year. I wasn't really paying too much attention there, but it is what it is. We've done it and now we can go back to doing nothing. Actually, I can't do nothing. I need to rush on down to this focus because I know I'm going to forget to do it. I can't remember what I did last time. It's been a little while since uh I recorded that video. I think it was the left side, so I'm going to do right side this time. And then also, I guess um cuz I didn't do one of these either, I'm going to do the LDP. Hey, look at that. Already got buddy-buddy with the UK. I'm going to help you out today, Mr. Neville Chamberlain. I'm sure you'll definitely stick around. We're going to defeat Germany together. And by together, I mean you got to let me do it, or else this whole thing is pointless. So, what we're going to do is I'm going to fight Manchuria. I don't think I'm going to bother with China. We're just going to leave them to their own devices. Then, after I've got a Manchuria, we're going to go ahead, join the Allies. It does mean I miss out on loads of the good stuff Japan actually gets, which really sucks, but it doesn't matter. I'm here for the achievement, not for fun. Okay, this is definitely going to be a fairly ambitious plan, but I think you can see what I'm cooking up. Oh, yeah. Oh, [laughter] yeah. She was not expecting that one. Please tell me that's the entire Manchurian army. I mean, come on. [laughter] That's pretty much all of it. Well, that is definitely one way to deal with this situation. Now, little old issue with this, which you can already tell, is that uh Manchuria went ahead and went down their focus, and got a whole bunch of these guys as puppets, which I I mean, I can't not take, right? Yeah, small issue with that though is I did say I wasn't going to invade China, but now I'm kind of forced to because all of these guys are my puppet. And I think China's eventually going to come for them. Definitely, you know, I've been on the wild side here. I'm not quite ready to push. Um I need to get a few more troops out. So, China's a little bit more powerful, obviously. It's 1940. I'm assuming though the Germans can wait an extra year or two. Oh god, [music] if they capitulate before then, that's going to be a hell of a game. [laughter] We're going to have to restart. I've been saving up a ton of political power so that I can get all the colonies and all the resources, too, while we were waiting around here. So, I'm going to click all those buttons, but I think I'm just going to wait until I get up a bit more opinion of the uh the colonial overlords just in case it matters. Love to know why my AI vassal is just building loads and loads of paratroopers, apparently. But, some things just pass me by. Not the question. See, I'm just going to ignore this whole front up here just cuz it's holding up loads of their troops and just keep pushing down here. And all of these armies are just all my puppet troops because we did get everyone to say yes to actually becoming my puppet, even Sinkiang, which became a Soviet puppet and I could demand it off them. Okay, now, also, we're also pretty much done with China after our big push here. I am going to go ahead and join the alliance now and get ready to take down the Germans. Okay, thank god, they did let me in, as well. Okay, the question is, though, can we now get back to Europe in time, get enough war score that we can even be the one to capitulate Germany and get this down achievement? Okay, army just about arriving. As soon as it does, we're going to start trying to get ourselves a bit of war score. Would it actually be worthwhile to take down Italy, get a little bit down there, work our way up? I'm not too sure because the Germans ain't doing too well over on the Eastern Front. So, I think we might just focus on them, maybe potentially get a landing somewhere. But, I don't want to capitulate them too quickly. That's the issue because we won't have enough war participation and we won't be the one to capitulate them. Yeah, I think I will start in North Africa. We'll send a few of the fellows over there and uh see if we can't help the British out. Can also get them to get a bit of war participation by sinking navies, which I am going to try and snipe. Already up to 3% just from sunken enemy ships right there. Nice. You know, this feels like I'm just playing a really weird UK game right [laughter] now. All right, I mean, we're getting up there, though, in terms of war participation, 10% and the majority of that is just from sinking ships. It's just It is absolutely insane how well they've buffed this damn mechanic now. All right, but as soon as we've sunk every ship the Germans have, they've still got quite a bit. I think I'll move on down to the Italians. I'm noticing they got quite a few destroyers still hanging about. So, really cool thing the democratic Japan path actually gives you is the greater East Asian Federation, which you can integrate all your little puppets into and get cores with. And because Manchuria's got all this land already, I'm about to get it all cored. And it is absolutely amazing. 200 political power to do, 100% worth it. My favorite thing about fighting in North Africa is there's no supply. It's just so much fun when there is not a single bit of supply. Oh gee whiz, if there was some supply right here, right now, I'd be upset. I love the comical universe where everybody is dying of starvation. It fills me with just so much joy knowing that my little fellows down there aren't having a great time. And why are they having not a great time? Because of this little red sign right here. They hate red. They hate it. Like a bull. Okay, about to go from 137 factories to um Yeah, pretty much 68. Don't you just love democracy? Okay, after we kick the Italians out of Africa here, I'm going to go ahead and launch an invasion of Germany at a hawk to a speed. Cuz it looks like in six or seven minutes we're about to reach a bit of a catastrophe. Should I just launch an invasion? Because I'm worried if um the capitulation mechanics are just the same way they've always worked, if I just land now and the capitulation goes to the Soviets, I won't get the achievement pop. Because it does have to be me they capitulate to if it works like the other capitulation achievements in the game. So, I'm just going to try it. Uh I've I've made a backup save scum save already for the Iron Man. Yep, we are going to do that just because we >> [laughter] >> we've come this far, might as well just cheat a little bit. And uh we'll see if we get the achievement pop. If not, I think the only other thing we could do is potentially fight the Soviets at the same time, which I think I can do with this focus right here. So, if it comes to it, we will do it. Also, to raise our potential even more here, I am going to launch into Germany over here so I actually get the land occupied instead of going into France where it will flip to them. And hopefully it ends up with us getting a bit more war participation. And yeah, I am still sniping navies everywhere I can find them because it's just absolutely printing us war participation, which is what is the factor of what's going to make us actually be the one to capitulate the Germans. Okay, fellows, we're in now. Will we very quickly get a lot of war participation here? Or will we just end up capitulating them at like 20%? That's going to suck because currently, I think the Soviets are up to like 55%. Yeah, because of boohoo, we've lost 10 trillion people. Oh yeah, I think this is going to be too quick of a capitulation for us to get any participation here by the looks of things. Only at the 14%. It is actually really funny though, just how quick you can just destroy the Axis. Yoda conference, why not? I think this is definitely going to end up being a plan B scenario. We'll see though if the Paradox could be nice and they could just have it so Germany has to be capitulated. Not that, you know, we have to specifically have them capitulate to us. I'm coping so hard right now. You're You're like 5 minutes away from watching me go back a year >> [laughter] >> and see me marching through Siberia. The 21%. I mean, come on, boys. You got to capitulate to me. I'm literally the one doing all the work here. I know, if they do if I get this achievement pop, all right, just to celebrate, I'm going to invade the Soviet Union anyway. So, please, come on, Paradox. I'm giving you a bone here. Oh, the Germans capitulated, but they capitulated to the Soviets. I hope you know what this means. Oh, that's so cringe. I hate the fact the Soviets, for some reason, actually managed to hold this game. All right, well, plan B. Oh, yes, welcome back to Bizarro World, where we didn't, in fact, launch into Germany because it turns out that's just not a good thing to do cuz the hope here is Germany can still, somehow, survive the Allies, and in the same time, they can't actually survive the Soviets enough that, you know, we get a capitulation. We need the Soviets to disappear is the issue. We should declare on the Soviets now that, this will actually just be enough to hold them back, and we are going to have to go for a capitulation, as well, which is just funny. And in the meantime, we just got to hope that our Allies aren't too competent here. We need Germany strong. You know what? I should just bring my Allies into this. Why not? Guys, [laughter] I'm calling on the team. It's imperative that we don't let Germany fall. I see you're already landing, but you need to stop. It's one heck of a detour, but we got to we got to hope that we just aren't seeing the Germans survive a little bit more over here. Okay, yeah, it's working. The Germans are actually pushing back. We I don't know why I'm celebrating. We're still going to beat you up, Germany. It could simply just be I want to be the one to find your blown-out score, all right, in the bunker. Yeah, maybe it's just because we're doing so many Japan games at the moment. Obviously, it makes sense we're doing this >> [laughter] >> with DLC. But, here you go, it's your annual massive encirclement in Mongolia. I can't even say annual. It's your bi-weekly encirclement. Now, obviously, achievements can never just be simple, can they? But, it's looking like I think we're we're definitely going to be getting this achievement this time around. Only thing we have to worry about now is, obviously, keeping up with the war with the special with the UK, which it looks like we're doing completely fine, 40 versus 41. So, unless they get a landing in Germany, which it doesn't look like they're going to so far, we've got it. I mean, obviously there could be 50 other things that go wrong with this, but stay tuned [laughter] for that one. We'll obviously have to deal with a couple extra hurdles after the Soviets capitulate, like actually then having to fight the Germans in Siberia, but I'm sure it's fine cuz as we know, I'm a Hearts of Iron 4 gamer, and if there's one thing Hearts of Iron 4 gamers like, it's no supply. I love the no supply. Isn't it just so fun? So fun. Who's units were those? I forgot I I just keep annexing my puppets. So, I've just [laughter] got 66 units hanging about. There you go. Go to Vichy France. Literally, as I said that, there you go. Well, unlucky for you, Vichy France. I am literally there with my little Chud army of little Chudlings. Ain't even going to give them a general. Have fun, boys. Now, hold on a second. We got ourselves a couple landings in Europe. Going to keep a very close eye on that one. Please capitulate, Soviets. What are we looking like? Cuz they've still got a while to go. They haven't taken yet. Oh, or Stalingrad, for a matter of fact, that is still somehow hold It's gone. Okay, the French one I'm not going to worry about, but I'm hoping they do get pushed out of the Netherlands. Yeah, it looks like they might because I don't want to worry about them potentially getting a good foothold over there. Okay, for a second, I was just looking for my equipment stockpile. I was like, "Why am I losing so many light tanks? I use no light tanks." I forgot about the little Chud army in the China. Oh, shout out to Italy for being the first Axis member who apparently is suffering with dementia. Did you forget what happened down in North Africa? Okay, now if they get Leningrad, I think the Soviets are like 98% capitulation. They might not even need it. 99% any VP right now is going to be enough to get the Soviets capitulating, and then we can launch our fabled invasion into the Germans. It's been waiting there for a long time. Well, it was a bit of a detour. Good news is don't even really have to worry about the front line in Siberia because >> [laughter] >> you boys are just still going to head west. It's pretty good. I guess this means we keep the German forces occupied still. Going to wait a second for our naval invasion though just till I see some units turn up over here. Oh, and I should probably free the children down there. They they caught me in Indochina. They've just been sat on for a couple of days starving to death. Well, the Germans have turned up and they're looking like they're suffering quite a bit from supply issues and equipment deficits. Cool for me, bad for them. I will go and launch the invasion straight up into Germany, see what we're going to be up against. I'm imagining it's probably going to be a lot more than when we were just taking them down before. That's up to 486 units. Yes, it's going to be a lot more over here. Come on, still got the landing. Okay, let's see how far we can go here. Okay, now our war participation is at a chatting 26%. though. Oh my god, what did they What was the UK being up to? My god, imagine. >> [laughter] >> Oh, no. I'm just going to make a backup [music] save again very quickly. Okay, we'll slow down on just taking out the Germans here. In fact, let me just turn allied supply off everywhere just in case they jump into my invasion here and we will just keep grinding out the east and hope we can get our participation up. It's already going up right now. We're chipping away the UK. You could also lend lease them and uh that will lower participation a little bit, but I'm just going to dump everything in my stock bar to the UK. Now, pushing from the east is definitely taking us down. I think we could be safe enough to push right now. Issue is I don't know if we can push. Germans have a lot of stuff and I think also just to get a peace conference we're going to have to capitulate a couple more people because Axis has unsurprisingly got a bit powerful and Iraq's invading Africa and I am also just getting destroyed in the air. Where did you get 8,000 fighters from? Okay, we have just officially overtaken the UK there. So, I'm just going to start pushing. I think we're fine. The Germans are just Sure, they've got me in the air, but their actual army is pretty damn weak. Don't forget you know our great expedition in the east is also still moving westward. Okay, yeah, that land lease was pointless. We knocked them down 122. Did I even get I gained 147 from sending it. Not worth it. Oh, also shout out to the UK being naval invaded by Vichy France. What boys, come on. Also, I don't know if you can tell. I think the Italians might have been planning a naval invasion over here. Okay, now if we capitulate the Germans here and I don't get that achievement pop, I'm probably going to keep going until I get the achievement. Now, what it is I have to do to get said achievement, I have no idea. But, that comes with the fun of achievements in HoI4. We're at the point of this schizophrenic game where I'm sinking Turkish coastal defense ships in the English Channel. What does it mean? What does any of this mean? Yeah, there you go. >> Oh my god, okay, convoluted as hell, but we did it. >> [laughter] >> What you think, Uncle Sam? What happened to the other guy? Man, you guys literally have sat there and done nothing this entire game. Have you Have you enjoyed watching in the corner? Oh, and that is the peace still. At least kind of peace still. For some reason, the Axis just blew up. So, if I want a peace still, I have to go deal with Peru. Pro tip, I'm not going over to Peru. Oh yeah, also shout to just Asian Italy. The best name we could have come up with. Well, yeah, I guess I guess that's just what we do. We conquer someone, and throw Asia in the front of it. Yeah, I guess we are the Greater East Asian Federation. But, yeah, that's the game. That's the achievement. Pretty fun one. Pretty quick one on my end actually. Didn't take that long at all. I mean, obviously, it would have been a bit quicker if we didn't have to take a little detour through Russia. But, this is just achievements for fun.
