He dies on a Tuesday, and the murder weapon is a comment section. He was a game designer. Three years of his life building an indie game with his own hands, his own savings, and a diet that was mostly instant noodles and spite. Then NetDragon — the biggest game company in the country, a corporation so rich they probably use smaller corporations as napkins — decided his little game made their big game look bad. So they did what giants do when an ant embarrasses them. They bought a smear campaign. Paid trolls. Fake reviews. Articles calling him a thief and a fraud. And at 3 a.m., refreshing the feed while ten thousand strangers explained in detail why he deserved it, his chest started doing this thing where it forgets how chests work. Then he opens his eyes in a bed that isn't his, in a body that isn't his, in a world that isn't his. Classic transmigration package. No receipt, no returns. Twenty-two years old. Fresh graduate. Apartment paid off. And here's the part that makes him sit up fast enough to concuss himself on the headboard: this world has no games. Technically it has games the way a desert technically has water. This version of history spent a few extra centuries at war, and entertainment tech is fifteen years behind. The market is a newborn. VR here is a clunky joke. And the local giant is called NetDragon. Same name. Same logo energy. Same smug corporate face. The universe looked at his death and said: rematch? Then it apparently felt bad about the whole thing, because that night he gets a dream that isn't a metaphor — it's a download. Full virtual reality technology, the real thing. Dive-in-with-your-brain, taste-the-food, feel-the-rain VR. Complete blueprints. An encrypted vault of future tech. And one artificial intelligence to run it all. She boots up as a pink-haired girl the size of a soda can, and the first thing she asks is whether she can have entrance sparkles. He built a superintelligence and it wants sparkles. He says yes, obviously. He's not a monster. Starting inventory: one dead man's grudge, one impossible technology, one daughter-shaped AI. Time to declare war. Except this time he brought a gun to the comment fight. And for his first release he doesn't pick a shooter or an MMO. He picks the tiny art game — two cloaked figures walking through a desert toward a mountain, no chat, no names, and the only thing you can do to another player is help them. Because nobody in this world trusts games yet. He isn't selling a game. He's selling the argument that games can be beautiful. What follows: three thousand beta testers dropped into a legendary hitman's driveway with no tutorial and no mission, a streamer surviving the massacre and declaring his true main quest is becoming Gambling King, a corporation slowly disassembling itself while funding his ad campaigns out of spite, and a hundred million people living part-time in worlds he built — where the blind see and the deaf hear. Two loose threads. A third world he's promised a hundred million imaginations before his own team knows what it is. And a piece of warm white jade in his pocket that means something everyone from the palace to the paparazzi would understand on sight — everyone except the genius holding it. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ⚔️ Watch to the end — the last line is the whole story. 🔔 Subscribe for daily manhwa & anime recaps. 💬 What game would YOU build first with real VR?
