This clip shows Max being discovered by Blank Reg. The Japanese LaserDisc version of the original film is different from the versions available on Beta, VHS, LaserDisc (US release) & DVD. Text at the end of the credits refers to it being a "Cinemax Release". The text is not seen on other versions. The transfer also has a different look. Possibly an optical transfer via a tube camera with smear?? Some of the shots of Max have not been processed in editing to match his stuttering. His mouth does not match the audio when he stutters and the faint lines and blue aura seen on the processed shots is also missing. It is the best looking footage I have seen of the original Max. It's just a pity that, unlike a DVD, the subtitles on a LaserDisc are part of the picture and can't be switched off.
