Riding from Shangrila to Deqen in Yunnan province with a quick stop off at He Long Bridge. This is a bridge built as a memorial to General He Long, who joined Mao in the Long March in 1934. At this point the armies had to cross the tough terrain of the Jinsha River as well as deal with the cold and tough terrain. Of the 90, 000 army only 8,000 made it to the northern camp. The bridge also has a museum that remembers the sacrifices the people made for a communist government. The road is stunning and so varied with a high climb of up to 4000 meters.
