Lyrics: the 1st strophe was written by Herms Niel and the 2nd-5th were copied from Wilhelm Hauff's "Steh' ich in finstrer Mitternacht" (Niel only added "auf der Alm" and "tralalalalala" between the lines); refrain: the 1st half was written by Herms Niel and the 2nd was copied (together with melody) from the folk song "Wie die Blümlein draußen zittern" (a.k.a. "Ach bleib bei mir"). Song originally had five strophes, the 1st and the 2nd were recorded here.
