My favorite movie of all time is Moulin Rouge. I was in sixth grade when I first saw it and was instantly entranced by the intricate costumes, the La Bohème inspired love story, and the way modern songs were reimagined to fit the turn of the century setting. Little did I know that someday I’d be making my own Baz Luhrmann-esque covers for a living. I knew I couldn’t do Ewan McGregor and Nichole Kidman’s version justice (or Elton John’s for that matter!) and I didn’t want to mess with a good thing so I kept my version sweet and simple.
