We was standing outside when the ice cream truck pulled up. Kids ran over happy. The ice cream man opened the window with that neighborhood personality, ready to serve everybody with a rhyme and a smile. Then one kid didn’t have enough money. That should’ve been handled with kindness. Instead, another kid started clowning him like being short on change made him less than anybody else. That’s where the lesson came in. You don’t judge people by what they got. You don’t clown somebody because they came up short. You don’t measure character by pockets. So Hex bought everybody ice cream. Because sometimes the smallest moment show the biggest truth: everybody don’t have the same, but everybody still deserve respect.
