A quick look at Elegon, the MMORPG I'm creating in Godot. Very much inspired by Classic World of Warcraft with inspiration from RuneScape. Welcome back to Elegon, the MMO RPG I’m solo developing! In this devlog, I’m sharing a big round of updates, bug fixes, and quality-of-life improvements, along with some behind-the-scenes insight into how I’m managing and refactoring systems as the project grows. What’s covered in this update: - A major rework of the action bar system to make it more dynamic and future-proof - Progress on keybinds and the groundwork for drag-and-drop abilities - Upcoming spell dragging, a dedicated spell book, and cleaner ability management - A brand-new feedback & bug reporting system using UserJot, replacing Discord reports - Numerous bug fixes, performance optimizations, and server-side security improvements - Continued work on shifting more authority to the server while keeping combat responsive - Improvements to the spell system, synced by class and level - VFX and lighting tweaks, including reduced fog for a clearer, more readable world This week was heavily focused on refactoring and foundational work rather than flashy features - the kind of work that’s critical for long-term MMO development and faster iteration down the line. 📢 Supported by a single monthly subscription, not microtransactions.
