Don't miss out! Join us at the next Open Source Summit in Seoul, South Korea (November 4-5). Join us at the premier vendor-neutral open source conference, where developers and technologists come together to collaborate, share knowledge, and explore the latest innovations and advancements in open source technology. Learn more at https://events.linuxfoundation.org/ KernelCI for Embedded: Enhancing Reliability through Scalable Test Automation - Paweł Wieczorek, Collabora Ensuring stability in embedded Linux systems is no small feat. The sheer diversity of hardware makes comprehensive testing difficult, and chasing regressions across countless platforms feels like a losing battle - one where time is scarce and failures can easily go unnoticed. No developer can test every possible configuration, but with the right tools, regressions can be caught early, before they become real problems. Enter KernelCI: an open-source project offering a scalable, automated testing infrastructure designed to improve the quality and reliability of embedded Linux systems. In this talk, we'll explore how KernelCI helps developers detect regressions on specific hardware and validate kernel changes across a broad range of platforms. I will also share practical techniques for contributing new tests, integrating hardware labs with the KernelCI infrastructure, and analyzing test results to uncover trends and spot failures. Attendees will walk away with a clear understanding of how to adopt KernelCI in their own embedded projects and improve their kernel testing strategy using open tools and infrastructure.
