Discussion and Review of Disney-Star Wars: The Acolyte

When looking for someone to blame for bad movies and shows from Hollywood, we often turn to Kathleen Kennedy, Bob Iger, Dave Filoni; the "bosses" of the respective studio in question. We turn to them because - they're the boss. The responsibility of bad work falls on the boss at the top who takes responsibility. Love him or hate him, this was best personified in Donald Trump's "The Apprentice." Of the two teams competing, if your team lost, and you were the Project Manager, you were: Fired. But I want to look at this from another lens, for once. Instead of blind firing blame at Kathleen Kennedy for The Acolyte. Who else is involved? I mean, sure, Leslye Headland is show running, and Dave Filoni oversees the Canon, but is it not the writers and the writers room that are responsible for the clunky dialogue? We're so quick to blame the bosses of the aggressively mediocre writing that is being done at a lower level. Hollywood is riddled with disease all the way through. It's not just the executives making foul decisions. It's not just the actors. It's not just the directors. It's the writers too. I think too much blame, actually, is put on the actors and directors when a project fails. We should be pointing back to the writers. And in furthering the drama surrounding Star Wars The Acolyte, one of the writers for episodes 4 and, allegedly, 5 have taken to X to address the public. Writing is not easy. I would never claim to say it is. And I also do not invite or endorse saying some of the nasty things people are saying to Claire, here. Claire did a "job." It wasn't a good job, but it's a job. Writing is like making music. All the characters are the different instruments and you put them all together to place specific notes at specific times and you end up with a symphony. Unfortunately, Hollywood is tone deaf.
