While the default init system for this distro is systemd, basic openrc support was already possible. I will tell what I learned when improving the current state to a more polished experience, along with the current roadmap. This talk gives a insight into my quest to improve the current state of openrc support in Debian, how init and openrc works in general, and what bugs I ran into.
