Is out now and available on all streaming and download platforms. I want to tell you a little story about the title of the track “Icarus” and what lies behind it. Icarus is a figure from ancient Greek mythology, the son of Daedalus, who escaped Crete with his father using wings made of feathers and wax. He ignored his father’s warning and flew too close to the sun, causing the wax to melt and sending Icarus falling into the sea. But Icarus can be more than just a story about a fall. It can be a story about a person who wanted to reach for something greater than themselves. Personally, I see this allegory as a reflection of the human experience today. We are constantly reaching for our own “sun” - our dreams, recognition, love, success, freedom, or an ideal life. We set higher and higher goals for ourselves, wanting to rise above, become better, and achieve more. Sometimes, we desire something so deeply that we stop noticing the line between pursuing a dream and slowly destroying ourselves in the process. I truly hope you’ll enjoy listening to it.
