Elizabeth Holmes & Theranos

Currently Playing: The Surreal Experience of Making 'You Can See Everything' with Co-Director Lance Oppenheim

How can you make a documentary when the filmmakers can't agree what is happening in front of the camera? Co-director Lance Oppenheim takes IndieWire inside the extremely unusual way his collaboration with Nathan Fielder and Elizabeth Holmes documentary came together. From an unprecedented "kill switch" at A24 to a subject no one on the crew could believe, Lance takes us deep into Elizabeth Holmes' "reality distortion field." (spoiler note - this episode covers roughly the first half of the film) More interviews with top directors and showrunners on the Filmmaker Toolkit Podcast - https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL_oEavFHbDlFCGlOmGO71Tvzb1qEHofCg&si=n8ikd1TuI88aoXiR What awards is this unusual Documentary eligible for? - https://www.indiewire.com/awards/industry/what-awards-you-can-see-everything-eligible-for-1235220881/ How "You Can See Everything" is breaking box office records - https://www.indiewire.com/news/box-office/you-can-see-everything-record-breaking-opening-a24-hollywoods-hottest-brand-1235222446/ Check out IndieWire's coverage of Oppenheim's previous series "Ren Faire" which he praises in the interview - https://www.indiewire.com/features/interviews/hbo-ren-faire-behind-the-scenes-1235012137/ #elizabethholmes #nathanfielder #youcanseeeverything #a24 #filmmaking #director #interview #podcast #indiewire #filmmakertoolkit
